003 | A New York State of Mind & The Spies of Wall Street

Spyher Expands to New York City's Financial District

The Spies of Wall Street walking tour now available for groups and teams

As the pace of walking tours in Washington D.C. remains steady thanks to a particularly gorgeous Fall, one Spyher eye TURNs to New York City and The Spies of Wall Street walking tour.  You guessed it! To prepare, some time has been spent enjoying the AMC+ TV series TURN: Washington’s Spies, (and fact-checking).

It TURNs out there are more than a few former CIA officers in New York City ready to show visitors some spy sites and share stories and perspectives from their time at the Agency.  What can our guests expect? Besides learning a bit of spy history, guests have the opportunity to hear the unique experiences of former CIA officers who have lived and worked in exotic locales overseas, advancing the national security mission. How cool is that?!?  In addition, you’ll get to play the role of an active intelligence officer by conducting an operational act. Experience how we communicate secretly and avoid being caught by aggressive spy hunters. You’ll also get a glimpse of the mindset that infuses the intelligence profession. Ask questions about history or today’s current events to see what I mean.

About The Spies of Wall Street: Explore the rich spy history of lower Manhattan, where every corner reveals secrets steeped in espionage and intrigue, from the clandestine operations of George Washington's intelligence network during the Revolutionary War to the audacious actions of Soviet sleeper agents, perfectly hidden within New York's glitterati. Dive into an unseen world that has silently shaped our past and continues to influence the present, hidden in the shadows of the city's skyscrapers. Throughout, you'll be captivated by tales of spies, covert operations, and the art of espionage. Prepare to test your own spy craft as you navigate this world of secrets and hidden histories.

Meet Charles Lea, one of our new NYC hosts: Charles served for 16 years in the intelligence community initially for four years at Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) as a Chemical warfare all-source counterproliferation analyst. Charles then joined CIA’s Directorate of Operations where he served for 12 years specializing in intelligence collection.  While at the CIA, Charles focused on the Middle East, Counterproliferation, and Counterrorism.

Training and repetition are the keys to success so to prepare for a busy Spring 2025 we’re offering tours for groups and teams at a pilot price. Contact Rosanna@spyher.co to learn more and book.  Be one of the first to experience the Spies of Wall Street.
